Pinay Curvies Swag Challenge: Boots Up!

Even before Mitch and I finally agreed on the Pinay Curvies Swag challenge this month, I was already developing an obsession on boots, particularly this kind of rain boots. With the bipolar weather lately, it was just right to invest in such pair. Besides, the last time I wore boots was back in high school. [Aside from Citizen Army Training (CAT) boots, of course!] This recollection prompted me to ask my mother two weeks ago if my brown mid-calf and black ankle boots were still alive. To my surprise, she confirmed they're gathering dust in our shoe cabinet. Unbelievable, I have instant footwear for the boots-up challenge!

Coincidentally, I will meet the Puff Mafia again that coming weekend for some archery adventure. What an excellent opportunity to channel my inner Yellow 4 Katniss Everdeen. Chos!

Among the members of the Fellowship of the Ring, I can easily say that Legolas had me at hello. He's a charmer and his flying arrows had a lot to do with it. I've always wanted to give archery a try back in college. So when the girls told me they'll go for it, they didn't have to ask me again if I'm interested. It's a big YES!

Katniss Everdeen is in the house!

They call me "the neighbor" and "the long ranger"

It wasn't easy as it looks. We had to get our stance right and aim for the target. In an hour, I had my share of going beyond 18 meters (Naks, pang-long range ako!), unintentionally vandalizing somebody else's target (It's your friendly neighbor asking for your wi-fi password!) and, worse, making the arrow turn to me! Scary, right?

      I KNOW! I'm super grateful that they still fit. Medyo mainit lang though. We're expecting thunderstorm that day, but it didn't happen haha. Kaya tiis ganda pag nasa outdoors. Mitch, i-try mo rin mag-archery! :D

      Naks, Katniss na bigla ha! Akala ko ba Yellow 4? Haha! Naku, matagal-tagal pa ako mag-bo-volunteer for Hunger Games! Pang-long range pa lang ako eh. Hahaha!

    Wow, this is awesome. I also want to try archery, even though I'm not the athletic type. I'm bookmarking the Gandiva Archery site for details. I might visit one of these days =)

      Go give it a try! I think non-athletic ones can find it fun and enjoyable. Medyo masakit sya sa arm a day after, but I'm sure you'll have a blast. Tell us how your first trial goes. ;)

      Medyo difficult. I think I have good vision naman, but I can't do bull's eye yet haha! More practice pa talaga.

    Love the color of the boots and your outfit really does remind me of hunger games! I tried archery once and it was very hard so I get you props on doing it. It looks like a bunch of fun! :)

    Love this look from the hairdo to the archery bow! I've tried doing archery too, but I forgot to dress up like you did. Did you at least hit the red mark?

    Thanks for being an inspiration. I grew up with a tall and fair skinned sister, while me, well, I'm short and I happen to have a morena skin as well. Everything is supposed to be okay, however, I have a father who always makes it a point to tell me that I'm short and "negra" as he would put it. On the other hand, he keeps on praising my sister for having those attributes that I mentioned above. I see in your eyes and the way you dress that you are a confident woman. Someday I hope I can get out of what my father always tells me. A "pungok and maitim" na babae. Thanks for motivating me to move forward.
